Magnaye, Vivas cop Prima doubles title
PETER Gabriel Magnaye and Paul Jefferson Vivas of Philippine Badminton Association Smash Pilipinas copped their third straight men’s open doubles title in the 8th Prima Pasta Badminton Open Championship recently at Powersmash court in Makati City.
Vivas and Magnaye, winners of last year’s Swiss Open men’s doubles title in Switzerland, trounced Philip Joper Escueta and Ronel Estanislao in the finals, 21-19, 21-9, to extend their reign which started in 2013.
In the women’s doubles open event supported by Smart and Babolat, Eleanor Christine Inlayo and Alyssa Ysabel Leonardo beat Anna Patricia Barredo and Thea Marie Pomar, 21-17, 21-17, to clinch the crown.
The competition was supported by Babolat and Smart Communications through MVP Sports Foundation, Boysen Paints, Morning Star Milling., Mabz Builders and ILO Construction.
