Hapee opens D-League title bid Monday

Hapee unveils its retooled but still potent roster as it kicks off its bid for a second straight title in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup Monday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The Fresh Fighters battle Jumbo Plastic at 3 p.m. minus several San Beda players who played key roles in their recent title romp.

In the first game, Tanduay Light shoots for a share of the lead versus Cafe France at 1 p.m.

Last conference’s MVP Ray Parks and Finals hero Scottie Thompson still banner the Fresh Fighters, who brought in a handful of new recruits led by Arvie Bringas, Mark Romero and Mar Villahermosa.

San Beda recalled its players, including Ola Adeogun and Baser Amer, to focus on its campaign for a sixth straight NCAA title.

Tanduay coach Lawrence Chongson, meanwhile, expects his squad to sustain its strong start after a 79-61 trouncing of the Giants.
