Adamson has vanquished every UAAP softball foe since 2010. The Lady Falcons are not about to ease up now.
Within reach of another historic feat, the Lady Falcons go for the jugular Thursday against University of the Philippines in the Season 77 finals at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
A victory in the 9 a.m. clash will extend Adamson’s title streak to five seasons. The Lady Falcons have gone undefeated in that span and they are out to protect that pristine slate against the equally determined Lady Maroons.
Now holding a remarkable 61-0 slate since 2011, the thrice-to-beat Lady Falcons are gunning for their 14th crown overall since the sport was reinserted in the league’s calendar of events in 1995.
The 6-0 victory in the series opener notwithstanding, Adamson coach Ana Santiago expects improvements from her players in Game 2.
“We will make some adjustments,” said Santiago, whose players are mostly from Bacolod.
Reigning MVP Annalie Benjamen will be out to replicate her heroics in Game 1 where she struck out 12 batters while Queenie Sabobo and Krina Paguica will try to provide the firepower for the Lady Falcons.
“We will bounce back, that’s the plan,” said UP coach Kiko Diaz.
