MANILA, Philippines—Dominating despite his team’s poor performance, June Mar Fajardo still put up MVP numbers as he ended the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the helm for the Best Player of the Conference Race.
The reigning PBA MVP led the locals with 33.9 statistical points after he averaged 16.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks across 11 games to go along with his 1.4 assists and. 0.4 steals averages for the 4-7 Beermen in the elimination round.
Guards Jayson Castro of Talk N’ Text and Paul Lee of Rain or Shine are at a tight race for second.
Castro finished the eliminations with 32.2 statistical points with an average of 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.1 blocks in 11 games.
Lee had a close 32.0 statistical points after averaging 16.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.1 blocks in 10 games. He missed one game due to injury.
Purefoods’ Denzel Bowles, who arrived late in the conference, led the imports with 59.8 statistical points and averages of 33.4 points, 15.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.8 blocks across five games.
Kia’s gigantic import PJ Ramos led all imports in the scoring and rebounding department with 35.9 points and 21.2 rebounds across 11 games. He is second to Bowles with a close 59.5 statistical points.
Fajardo also leads the MVP race after the first two conferences with 26.2 statistical points which counts for 70 percent of the total points.
Another 30 percent will be added at the end of the Governor’s Cup.
His teammate, 2013 MVP Arwind Santos, is at third in the MVP race with 20.8 statistical points.
