Jay-R Taganas made the game-winning basket and AMA University stunned Tanduay Light, 76-74, in the 2015 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Taganas buried a short jumper despite a foul with 2.2 seconds left to lift the Titans to their second win in three games. He intentionally missed the bonus free throw to let the clock expire with the Rhum Masters out of timeouts.

“Hindi naman sa akin yung play so aksidente lang na napasa sakin,” Taganas said on the final play.

The former San Beda Red Lion recorded another double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in close to 40 minutes of action. His rebound total was his lowest output this conference after posting 17 and 29 boards in his first two games this conference.

The Titans bucked a slow start and climbed back from an early 16-point deficit.

The Rhum Masters dropped to 1-2 after back-to-back heartbreaking losses.

Roi Sumang scored 13 points while Edwin Escueta and Aljon Mariano added 11 apiece for Tanduay. CC
