Erwin Arcillas and amateur partner Edwin Abesamis combined for a 130 to beat the Orlan Sumcad-Mike Guevarra and Genaro Basuan-Vanjie Omlang tandems by three and capture the PGAP pro-am golf crown at Club Intramuros last Monday.
Arcillas shot a two-under 64 while Abesamis carded a net 66 through Blind Callaway as they pocketed the top P20,000 purse in the 18-hole tournament organized by the Professional Golfers Association of the Philippines.
The long-hitting Sumcad, a regular campaigner on the ICTSI Philippine Golf Tour, fired a 61 while Guevarra scored a 72 for a 133 as they nipped the Basuan-Omlang pair in the countback to clinch runner-up honors. Basuan shot a 65 while Omlang turned in a 68. Liam Cully bagged the amateur overall gross crown.
