The best of Philippine Superliga will represent the national team to the Asian Seniors women’s volleyball championships on May 20 to 28 in Beijing and Tianjian in China.
This was announced recently by PSL president Ramon “Tats” Suzara after meeting the coaches of the six teams in the league along with Larong Volleyball Sa Pilipinas (LVP) president Joey Romasanta.
“We are honored to represent the Philippines and now we are in the process of forming the coaching staff and the team composition,” said Suzara.
The league has already tweaked its schedule to end May 16 instead of the end of the month. Team owners have agreed to lend their players to the PH squad. The composition is expected to be announced next week.
The top spikers expected to be named to the squad are Petron’s Aby Maraño, Rachel Daquis, and Dindin Manabat, Cignal’s Jheck Dionela, Foton’s Nicole Tiamzon, Philips Gold’s Michele Gumabao and Myla Pablo, Mane ‘n Tail’s Honey Royse Tubino, and Shopinas’ Cha Cruz and Stephanie Mercado.
