Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, who was pleased with Nonito Donaire Jr.’s recent victory, said that the resurgent “The Filipino Flash” would not be in a title fight just yet.
“I’m glad Nonito did well,” Arum told BoxingScene.com after Donaire’s 2nd round technical knockout victory over Brazilian William Prado in the Pinoy Pride 30 event at Smart-Araneta Coliseum last Saturday.

Donaire said after this dominating win that he hopes to get a crack at a title bout this year, saying that he feels he’s ready to step up again at the elite level.

After discussing possible opponents with Donaire’s manager Cameron Dunkin, Arum, however, said that another title fight for the 2012 Fighter of the Year will have to wait.
“No conclusion yet,” Arum said on Donaire’s next opponent, but added “it won’t be a title fight.”
