Mr. Money is about to get a lot of money.
According to Forbes.com, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is expected to become the richest athlete for 2015 after he collects his paycheck in May 2.
Mayweather is poised to take home, win or lose, $150 million after he fights Manny Pacquiao at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada to unify the WBO, WBC, and WBA Welterweight titles.
Pacquiao also breaks the nine-figure mark with more than $100 million in pay.
Forbes.com added that the fighters’ earnings can still increase if the pay-per-view buys exceed three million.
Mayweather’s earnings will surpass golfer Tiger Woods’ inflation-adjusted 2008 earnings of $125 million.
NBA greatest Michael Jordan is third on the list with inflation-adjusted earnings of $115 million which he earned both in 1997 and 1998.
