It was a very happy Easter Sunday for Cagayan Valley, and a not so joyous one for Fourbees-Perpetual.
Cagayan opened up the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 with the destruction of Fourbees-Perpetual 25-12, 25-12, 25-10, Sunday afternoon at the Arena in San Juan.
It was so lopsided that every single Lady Rising Sun who entered the court scored, save for the two liberos.
Marivic Meneses, who came off from a great UAAP season for University of Santo Tomas, closed out the Lady Altas as she gave Cagayan the set point at 24-9 with a quick attack in the middle and ended it all with another hit two plays after.
Cagayan head coach Nes Pamilar said his team simply “executed.”
“We prepared for it well, and I think we have more experience,” Pamilar said who handled the same team, and core players, for three straight years.
Angeli Tabaquero and Janine Marciano combined for 18 points for Cagayan who had 11 players scoring for them.
Jamel Suyat led Fourbees-Perpetual with eight points. DL
