Splendido Ladies golf tees off; Cyna favored

CYNA Rodriguez will spearhead the local challenge bidding to spoil another Thai party starting today when the P500,000 ICTSI Splendido Ladies Invitational tees off in Tagaytay.

Rodriguez, the two-time reigning Order of Merit champion, is one of the favorites in the tournament that drew the participation of defending champion Amolkan Phalajivin, Euro Tour veteran Saraporn Chamchoi Ladies Asian Tour campaigner Wichanee Meechai and four other Thai aces.

Chihiro Ikeda and Jayvie Agojo are the other notable local entries in the 54-hole tournament that dangles a champion’s purse of P100,000.

Agojo is seeking to snap a long winless spell and will be coming off a respectable performance in the tough Ladies Open at Southlinks recently.

Crack amateur Princess Superal was the best Filipino performer there, but will not be playing this week as she will head the ICTSI Team competing in Malaysia. Musong R. Castillo
