Floyd Mayweather Jr. has included swimming to his training, but Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach said the undefeated American boxer is going about it all wrong.
In an Instagram post, Mayweather showed a clip of him doing swim training with Pacquiao’s former conditioning coach Alex Ariza as part of his build up for the May 2 super fight.

“I saw pictures, Floyd swimming,” Roach said in the video posted on Top Rank Facebook page smiling, seemingly sarcastic. “I love it. First time in his life he’s trying something new in the biggest fight of your life? Come on, give me a break.”
He’s trying everything he can to get ready for the fight but he’s going with the wrong training,” Roach added.
Roach also said that Mayweather was “forced” by the public to fight his prized student.
The showdown between the top pound-for-pound fighters today took five years before it finally came to fruition with Mayweather himself announcing it on social media.
Roach, however, believes Mayweather didn’t really want to take on Pacquiao if not for the ever-growing clamor for the long-awaited megafight to be sealed.
