Cagayan Valley used a balanced offensive to overwhelm Fourbees-Cavite, 25-16, 25-18, 25-15, yesterday and grab the solo lead in the Spikers’ Turf men’s volleyball tournament at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

With Peter Torres and Marck Espejo groping for form, the Rising Suns got solid games from their fringe players to hack out their second straight victory.

Earlier, Philippine Air Force opened its campaign on a winning note by dumping Cignal HD, 25-22, 25-22, 15-25, 25-22.

Combining brilliantly with setter Jessie Lopez, Edwin Tolentino fired 15 of his game-high 21 points off kills. He also had five blocks and a service ace.

The Airmen also drew solid games from Reuben Inaudito who finished with 11 points while former national player Jeffrey Malaban wound up with 10 hits like Reny John Balse.
