MANILA, Philippines—A number of corporate friends back the PBA Press Corps (PBAPC) as it holds its 2011 Annual Awards starting at 7 p.m. on September 30 at the Topaz Room of the Gateway Suites in Cubao, Quezon City.
San Miguel Corp., Smart Sports, Maynilad, Accel, Phoenix Petroleum, Sapal Elastic Sealant & Waterproofer, Energen and Powerade threw their support to the PBAPC to help ensure the success of the affair to be highlighted by the crowning of the Coach of the Year and the Executive of the Year.
The Coach of the Year and the Executive of the Year will be the recipients of the prestigious Virgilio “Baby” Dalupan Trophy and the Danny Floro Trophy, respectively.
The PBAPC, the group of sportswriters who regularly cover the PBA games, also fetes other achievers including the Defensive Player of the Year, Mr. Quality Minutes, Comeback Player of the Year, the Order of Merit winner, the All-Rookie Team and the Referee of the Year.
These sports patrons back the press corps as it holds its annual bash where it also launches the 2011 edition of its annual magazine The Extra Period.
For the major breakthrough of their team, Talk ‘N Text coach Chot Reyes and owner Manny V. Pangilinan are tipped to be the recipients of the Dalupan and Floro Trophies.
