POWERHOUSE teams PLDT Home Ultera and Army seek a share of the Spikers’ Turf men’s tournament lead when they clash with separate rivals today at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The PLDT Ultra Fast Spikers, who overpowered Cavite Patriots Fourbees, 25-19, 25-17, 25-10, last Tuesday, are bracing for a stern test against the Cignal HD Spikers in their 9 a.m. duel.
Dropping a 22-25, 22-25, 25-15, 22-25 decision to Air Force, Cignal is determined to bounce back with Edmar Bonono, Lorenzo Capate Jr., Reyson Fuentes and Red Christensen at the helm.
The Ultra Fast Spikers have a slight edge in talent with Kheeno Franco, Paul Torres, Jayson Ramos and Mark Alfafara leading the attack.
A second straight win for PLDT will give the Ultra Spikers a share of the lead with fancied Cagayan Valley.
Army is also aiming for a second win in the 5 p.m. duel with Champion Infinity.
Champion bungled a two-set lead in a 25-23, 26-24, 21-25, 22-25, 14-16 loss to Cagayan in last Sunday’s opener. Cedelf P. Tupas
