Early clash of Shakey’s VL leading teams today

ARMY and PLDT Home Ultera clash in an early meeting of title favorites even as Meralco shoots for a second straight win in the Shakey’s V League Season 12 Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Fielding an experienced and talented crew, the Lady Troopers are slight favorites against PLDT in the match slated at 12:45 p.m.

Meralco goes up against winless Baguio at 2:30 p.m.

Army walloped Fourbees-Perpetual Help in straight sets last Tuesday but  coach Rico de Guzman expects a far tougher time against PLDT whose lineup is bannered by two time UAAP MVP Alyssa Valdez of Ateneo.

Rachel Anne Daquis was spearheaded the win against Fourbees with 16 points. Dindin Manabat and Nerissa Bautista, who were solid for the Lady Troopers in their debut, are expected to come out strong against PLDT.

Valdez, who missed PLDT’s opening game last Sunday due to family commitments, is expected to make her return today.
