‘Furious’ star Michelle Rodriguez roots for Pacquiao, loves Manila

Who loves Manny Pacquiao? Michelle Rodriguez does.

Talking to Inquirer’s Man in Hollywood Ruben Nepales, the “Fast and Furious” star showed her love for the eight-division World Champion and her affinity for Manila.

“I like Manila!” Rodriguez exclaimed at Nepales. “And I love (Manny) Pacquiao. I can’t wait for his fight with (Floyd) Mayweather.”

While Rodriguez’ Fast and Furious 7 film blazes in the box office, Pacquiao has to wait a few more weeks before he gets to hit Mayweather on May 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena for their welterweight unification fight, arguably the biggest fight in boxing history.

Talk of a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight had been in the air for almost six years until after the two met during an NBA game in Miami when this generation’s best fighters began to personally push the fight.

Rodriguez was among those who waited a long time for the clash.

“Manny seems like he has a really big heart. I can see that,” Rodriguez said. “He seems [like] a really cool guy.”

Rodriguez will be at the swanky MGM Arena when the fight happens, so she’ll be among the “thousands in attendance,” as the iconic Michael Buffer is used to saying.
