Arellano University was as hot as summer as they nuked Polytechnic University of the Philippines, 112-77, to open the Fr. Martin Cup Sunday morning at San Beda Gym.
It was still a game near the end of the first half as the two were tied at 45-45, but the Chiefs went on a 9-1 blitz to end the half at 55-46 which ultimately swung the momentum to Arellano.
Arellano then went on an 18-4 run in the third  with Kenneth Zamora capping it off with a layup on the break giving the Chiefs a massive 22-point lead, 79-57.
PUP were on their heels the entire second half as the Chiefs easily broke their full-court press.
Dion Holts led the Chiefs with 14 points while Zamora had 12. DPL
