Guiao: Texters beatable at this time
Believe it or not, as great as Talk ‘N Text played to get to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals against Rain or Shine, Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao believes that this is the time the Tropang Texters are most beatable.
Two nights after the Texters bundled out defending champion Purefoods with a 3-1 Final Four victory, Guiao said he believes that Talk ‘N Text is still in a transition in the post-Jimmy Alapag era.

Jason Castro, taking the torch from Alapag, has made it known that he’s now the Texters’ go-to guy after carrying the team on his shoulders against Purefoods.

Rain or Shine will also be coming into the best-of-seven series starting tomorrow as the underdog, having lost two prior series to the Texters—the Philippine Cup Finals in 2013 and last year’s Commissioner’s Cup Final Four —without winning a game.
“The conditions are different now,” Guiao said. “We are more seasoned now,” Guiao said.
Wayne Chism has become the great import that Guiao saw him to be when the Painters signed him up last year and Paul Lee has learned from those two failures.
Castro and Lee are locked in a heated race for the Best Player of the Conference award, but both super point guards said their respective teams come first.
“Winning the BPC makes the winner happy,” Lee said in Filipino. “But everyone will be happy if we win the championship.”
