PLDT keeps Shakey’s V-League hot form
PLDT Home Ultera kept its ruthless form and whipped Coast Guard, 25-8, 25-22, 25-15 Tuesday night to tighten its grip of top spot in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Ultra Fast Hitters came out with all guns blazing in the first set and went on to post another straight-set victory that boosted their record to 3-0.
Fresh off an impressive win over Army, PLDT was relentless in dealing the Lady Dolphins their third straight loss.

Two days after torching Army with 19 hits, Alyssa Valdez fired 12 points and Suzanne Roces added 10 hits before sitting out the third set as PLDT wrapped up the victory in just 58 minutes.
Army rebounded resoundingly from the loss to PLDT by walloping Philippine Navy, 25-19, 25-12, 25-15 and improved to 2-1.

Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley roared to a second straight five-set win, this time at the expense of PLDT Home Ultera, 25-20, 26-24, 12-25, 20-25, 15-10, in the Spikers’ Turf men’s volleyball action.
Army, with Greg Dolor and Patrick Roxas finding their form, also grabbed a second win in three games with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 demolition of Cavitee Fourbees.
The Rising Suns got off to a strong start and nearly bungled a two-set advantage before regaining their bearings in the deciding set thanks to the steady play of Marck Espejo, who finished with 15 hits.
