Queen’s Cup: Team East hangs on
TEAM West refused to fold up under pressure from Team East as former world snooker champ Karen Corr scored a come-from-behind win over Korean Eunji Park, 4-2, to trim the host squad’s lead to 7-5 last night in the AM8.com Queen’s Cup at Resorts World Manila.
The former world snooker champion Corr displayed patience in working her way up from 0-2 against the young and aggressive Park.
Corr dropped the first two racks by missing seemingly easy shots of the 6-ball and 9-ball, respectively, allowing Park to run out.
Article continues after this advertisementBut she painstakingly tied the score, exploiting Park’s misses. Going for the last four ball on an open table in the fifth rack, Park overshot the 8-ball by the rail which Corr gamely sank to score.
Team Asia posted a formidable 7 matches to 4 lead after the first two days. But Team West ended it on a high note with a 4-2 win in four-on-four.
Team Asia snared the first three matches Friday night with Amit, Siming Chen and Park beating Laurance, Corr and Barretta, 4-2. Marc Anthony Reyes
