HOLLYWOOD — Top pound-for-pound fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. is picking Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James over arguably the greatest basketball player of all time Michael Jordan in a game of 1-on-1.
Mayweather, who has a scheduled showdown with Filipino ring legend Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas, said James’ size and strength will be too much for the six-time champion Jordan when the two legends of the game are pitted against each other.
“He’s not strong enough. He’s not big and strong enough,” Mayweather told ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on SportsCenter pertaining to the Chicago Bulls legend.
Jordan will be giving up two inches in height and about 20-30 pounds against James, who is listed at 6-foot-8 and 250lbs.
“Is Michael Jordan one of the best players to play the game? Absolutely. But I can’t just say he’s the best player to ever live. I can’t say that, absolutely not,” Mayweather added.
