UFC fighter Alistair Overeem admires Manny Pacquiao’s humility

Soft-spoken UFC Heavyweight fighter Alistair Overeem is not exactly the biggest fan of Floyd Mayweather Jr but he does, however, “admire” WBO Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao.

“I really admire Manny,” Overeem said during his visit in SM Megamall as part of the hype train for UFC Fight Night Manila: Edgar vs. Faber.

Overeem described the contrast of the attitude between Pacquiao and Mayweather, so that’s why he’s leaning towards boxing’s eight-division World Champion.

“I’ve met him [Pacquiao], he’s very gentle, very positive, humble, doesn’t like to flash [his possessions] even though he’s very wealthy. Even when he’s on top of the food chain, he doesn’t throw it in your face, he doesn’t smack you in the face.”

Pacquiao is set to face Mayweather to unify their three welterweight belts in a match between their era’s greatest fighters.

Overeem was less appreciative of Mayweather since the undefeated American said some pretty bad words directed at UFC fighters.

“Mayweather said some bad things about us UFC fighters, that wrestling is hugging…of course I didn’t appreciate that.”
