Black Eyed Peas singer says it’s all over for Mayweather in 10 rounds

HOLLYWOOD—Singer Apl.de.ap joined Manny Pacquiao for his early morning run around Pan Pacific Park here early Tuesday morning and got to see first hand just how hard the Filipino ring icon is preparing for his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Manny’s in good condition,” said the Filipino-American member of the Grammy-winning Black Eyed Peas. “I tried to keep up with him [during the jog], I got left behind for about a mile. He’s really in good shape, good spirits and all our kababayan is in support of him. Really proud of Manny.”

The singer, whose real name is Allan Pineda Lindo, believes that Pacquiao’s skill set is exactly what it will take to beat undefeated American star Mayweather. The two pound-for-pound greats clash on May 2 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“I think Manny is the only one that can get to Mayweather [with] lateral movement, bunches of punches; one of them is going to get in there,” said Apl.de.ap, who also joined Pacquiao during the post-jog abdominal exercises.

Lindo’s prediction? “It’s gonna be 10th round.”

“It’s gonna be a long fight. 10 rounds!” he added.

Lindo, also a host of singing competition The Voice Philippines, said he will definitely be in Las Vegas on fight night to support Pacquiao.

“Vegas baby! With ticket or without ticket, I’ll be there,” he said.
