HOLLYWOOD—When it comes to business deals, Manny Pacquiao is a man of few words. Three days after getting a visit from Sylvester Stallone, the Filipino champion continued to keep mum on the business offer the star of Rocky made during the visit.
A role in the action film The Expendables 4, a sequel of the series co-written and co-starred by Stallone, has reportedly been offered to Manny, but the Filipino remained mum on the offer.
‘’We haven’t agreed on anything yet,’’ he said Tuesday after his workout at the Wild Card gym here. ‘’Let’s talk about it after the fight.’’
He was referring to his May 2 mega-buck showdown with the Floyd Mayweather on May 2 in Las Vegas for the undisputed world welterweight boxing championship.
The possibility of an Expendables role for Pacquiao was originally raised in November when Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger dropped by Manny’s locker room before his fight with Chris Algieri in Macau. Stallone’s visit here was seen as a follow-up of that Macau meeting.
The Expendables is an all-star action-packed series that also includes Shwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Kelsey Grammer and mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey in the cast.
The undefeated Rousey, the biggest star in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), is one of the recent celebrities who visited Pacquiao during training last week. She lives not far from Pacquiao’s West Hollywood home.
Now an actress herself , she starred in The Expendables 3 and the Fast and Furious 7, which is currently breaking box office records worldwide. An Olympic medallist in judo, she is now considered the best pound-for-pound mixed martial artist, the biggest draw, male or female, in the UFC.
Rousey, who lives nearby and trains in Santa Monica a few miles from the Wild Card Gym where Manny trains, is a big fan of the Filipino champion and is rooting for him against Mayweather.
After visiting Manny in his West Hollywood home last week, Rousey said she was “truly honored to meet such a humble and genuine person.’’
Their mutual admiration went to the extent of Pacquiao predicting Rousey would beat Mayweather if they met in the octagon.
