Cojuangco to appeal nat’l bowlers reinstatement

/ 01:55 AM April 24, 2015

Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. yesterday said he would appeal to the POC board to reinstate the bowling team in the Philippine delegation to the 28th Southeast Asian Games. “I pity the athletes. I will ask the board to adopt them in the SEA Games,” said Cojuangco of the bowlers, who are again expected to contend for gold medals in the June 5 to 16 Games in Singapore. The POC board decided to remove the 12-member bowling squad from the PH roster after top officials of the Philippine Bowling Congress led by Ronnie Mendoza failed to comply with the requirements of the Olympic body.
