A chance to represent the Philippines in international meets and cash prizes await the winners of the ASTC Asian Triathlon Cup which fires off today at Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The two-day event lured close to 600 participants who will see action in Mini-Sprint, Sprint and Standard distance challenges around Subic Bay.

A total of P600,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the Elite category winners. Century Tuna Male and Female Superbods awards will also be given away with cash prizes worth P10,000 each.

Champions in men’s and women’s national age-group division will get sponsorship from the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (Trap) to the Asian Cup in June in Taiwan.

Second and third places will have free registration, tax exemption, assistance in visa processing and coordination with organizers for local transportation and hotel accommodation.

Finishers are qualified to be endorsed by the Trap to the 2015 World Age-Group Championships in Chicago, Illinois, set for September.

For the Inter-Club Competition, the Top three finishers will be declared the National Triathlon Club champion and runners-up.  Marc Anthony Reyes
