Alabang collars twin WGAP crowns
Alabang leaned on its home course edge to seize two victories in an emphatic start in the 2015 Champion Infinity WGAP Circuit at Alabang Country Club in Muntinlupa recently.
Christine Naidoo fired 38 Stableford points, Marilyn Reyes shot a 36 and Lorna Tabuena and Jocelyn Garcia churned out a pair of 35s to pool a 144 for Alabang, which beat Forest Hills by six for the Class A crown.
The Antipolo-based squad assembled a 138 on Tess Staub’s 39, Ma. Cecilia Tan’s 35, and Kim Hey Run and Nelda Roguel’s 34 and 30 while Sta. Elena’s Lily Chan shot a 35, Therese Dabao made a 34 and Wilhermina Attwood and Rio Co turned in 33 and 31, respectively, for third at 133 in the circuit organized by the Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines.
Article continues after this advertisementStaub’s 39 likewise netted her the individual crown with Susana Dagless and Eurica Betonio, both of Eagle Ridge, ruling Classes B and C, respectively, with identical 37s.
The Alabang ladies also dominated Class B as Greely Oposa and Rachel Shah came through with a pair of 38s, and Carol Nielsen and Connie Moncur backed them up with 35 and 34 points, respectively, for a 145 output and a 20-point romp over Sta. Elena.
Canlubang topped Class C with a 133, besting Forest Hills (130), Villamor (125) and Alabang (124).
