LAS VEGAS—Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he did not watch any video of Manny Pacquiao’s fights. Either he’s lying, or he’s not taking Pacquiao seriously.

Mayweather made the revelation on Monday afternoon during his grand arrival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, where he will fight Pacquiao on Saturday for the unified world welterweight championship.

Like Pacquiao earlier in the day, Mayweather exuded confidence that we would extend his winning streak to 48 fights and prove he’s indeed worthy of the self-proclaimed moniker ‘’The Best Ever.’’

According to Mayweather, he’s treating the supposed Fight of the Century with Pacquiao just like any of his past fights.

The flamboyant American also dismissed Pacquiao’s reported plan to control the tempo and put the pressure right on the opening bell.

“Everybody’s game plan is to come forward and throw lots of punches,” Mayweather said. “It hasn’t worked in 19 years and 47 fights.”

Argentine brawler Marcos Maidana nearly succeeded in their first tussle last year, but was clearly beaten in their rematch.

Maidana, of course, is no Pacquiao, who is definitely faster and more elusive.

While Mayweather denied it, Pacquiao admitted that he watched a few fights of his opponent, particularly that with former world champion Zab Judah, a southpaw like Pacquiao. Judah is now Mayweather’s spar mate.

Pacquiao said he studied Mayweather’s moves thoroughly and will apply what he learned and practiced on fight night.

If Mayweather did not do the same, then it will be his fault.
