Kera Mix ends its long layoff against skidding AMA University in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup Thursday at the Ynares Arena.
The Mixers, who played their last game two weeks ago, a 77-73 win over Aspirants’ Cup champion Hapee that halted a two-game slide, collide with the Titans at 3 p.m.
“You often get rusty after a long break. But we played a few tuneup games (against collegiate teams) to stay in shape,” said Kera Mix coach Caloy Garcia, who is trying to pull abreast of idle Valley (4-2) in third place and stay in the hunt for an outright semifinal slot.
Cellar-dwellers Tanduay Light and Liver Martin tangle earlier at 1 p.m.
The Rhum Masters, reeling from an 84-87 defeat at the hands of Cagayan Valley on Monday, are slightly favored to snap a three-game skid to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Mixers should have little problem against the Titans, who suffered a string of defeats that drove them to seventh place (2-4) among 10 teams.
Tanduay Light, Liver Marin and MP Hotel share last spot at 1-4.
