Action was aplenty in the best of seven PBA finals series between Talk N’ Text and Rain or Shine.

Game 1 at Mall of Asia Arena, Talk N’ Text’s temperamental import Ivan Johnson knocked down Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao.

Game 4 at Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Talk N’ Text rookie Matt Ganuelas-Rosser and Rain or Shine captain Jireh Ibañes got tangled up in transition. Both were called for fighting but it was the big Painter JR Quiñahan that did the most damage when he hit Rosser with the ball straight to the face.

Game 5, Smart-Araneta Coliseum, the wife of Talk N’ Text forward Harvey Carey got into a shouting match with the wife of Ibañes.

Talk N’ Text versus Rain or Shine was a collision of two forces that would not budge.

Their series came to a deciding Game 7 and that Game 7 needed two overtimes to see a victor.

Talk N’ Text were the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Champions beating Rain or Shine 121-119 on Wednesday evening at Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

“That’s when I can say that basketball here in the Philippines is different,” Finals MVP Ranidel De Ocampo said. “There are mind games, even outside of the court, in the interviews, the heat, the animosity is not lost.”

De Ocampo was the beast for Game 7 after finishing with 34 points and seven rebounds.

Game 7 can be considered the most peaceful match of the whole series.

“All I can say is that the two teams are very competitive.”
