LIST: Where to watch Pacquiao-Mayweather for free in Metro, Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

Come fight day on Sunday (Manila time), head out early to the town plaza, gymnasium or multipurpose hall nearest you if you want to watch the live telecast of the megabout between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., for free.

Local officials all over the country have set up giant screens in sports complexes and other public areas to make sure that the prohibitive price of the pay-per-view telecast won’t keep the average Filipino from cheering on the “Pambansang Kamao.”

And as if viewers needed any more prodding to spice up their viewing experience, public officials in Valenzuela City have tapped “round girls” at the city’s astrodome to add color to the much-awaited fight between two of the world’s best pound-for-pound boxers.

Elsewhere, in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, even tricycle drivers got their act together and pooled their resources to buy pay-per-view subscriptions and watch the bout inside tricycle terminals and waiting sheds.

Military camps

The Armed Forces of the Philippines will also be providing free live screening of the Las Vegas event for soldiers in major military camps all over the country.

Here are other public venues throughout the country where you can watch the “The Fight of the Century.”
