Poch Hernandez carded a gross 77 for a net 65 to capture the Class A crown while Jose Morales nipped Nilo San Juan in the countback for the Class B title in the Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash golf tournament at Southwoods’ Masters Course recently.
Hernandez, a 12-handicapper, held off Freddie Mendoza, who shot a 66 from a gross 76, to capture the premier crown in the 18-hole first trimester tournament presented by Resorts World Manila with San Miguel-Purefoods as principal sponsor.
Morales, with a handicap of 16, slugged it out with San Juan, an 18-handicapper. The duo finished with identical net 65s but the former took the Class B crown on a lower handicap.
Rolly Dizon made a gross 92 for a net 65 and captured the Class C crown via a two-shot win over Jack Whyte, who ended up with a net 67 from a gross 91.
Milton Lalisan (nearest the pin) and Raul Olea (longest drive) shared the spotlight by winning the fun holes in the event.
