Philippine Football Federation president Mariano Araneta won a seat in the powerful Asian Football Confederation executive committee Wednesday during the AFC Congress in Manama, Bahrain.

Araneta, who has been at the helm of the PFF since 2010, was one of the topnotchers in the poll, garnering 38 votes out of a possible 46 to earn a seat in the 11-man committee.

“The committee has a big influence in the direction of football in Asia,” said PFF general secretary Edwin Gastanes.
