Japanese volleyball coach impressed with ‘great’ Valdez
Alyssa Valdez is so good, even opposing coaches look at her with great regard.
Japan head coach Kiyoshi Abo said the Philippine skipper “is great” even just witnessing Valdez play for a couple of games.
“Number 2 is great,” Abo said during a post-game press conference in the Asian U23 Women’s Volleyball Championship.
Valdez has an average of 25 points per game in the preliminaries as the Philippines hold four points in Group A after a four-set loss to Iran and an upset three-set sweep of Kazakhstan.
Abo said the Philippine players that have impressed him were Fil-Jap Risa Sato, Gretchel Soltones, Jaja Santiago, and Valdez.
He would single out Valdez as someone who was above the rest.
