Mayweather sued by ex-girlfriend for $20 million

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is also facing a lawsuit, but of a different kind.

The ex-girlfriend of Floyd Mayweather Jr. has filed a defamation suit against the undisputed welterweight champion claiming he lied in a recent interview about her being intoxicated with drugs during a domestic abuse incident in 2010.

Josie Harris, the mother of Mayweather’s three children, is asking for $20 million in damages after Mayweather told Yahoo’s Katie Curic in April that she was on drugs and that the boxing champion was just trying to restrain her in the altercation, according to a CNN report.

Mayweather was arrested in 2010 after authorities say that he punched Harris in her Las Vegas home.

He plead guilty to 14 months of misdemeanor battery and two counts of harassment.

CNN said in its  report that Mayweather was sentenced to three months in jail but he only served two.

Harris said in her lawsuit that Mayweather arrived in her Las Vegas home while she slept on a couch then began punching and kicking her.

Mayweather, Harris’ lawsuit said, also dragged her in the house in front of the three children—two sons and a daughter.

The undefeated American is fresh off a uninamous decision victory over pound-for-pound rival Manny Pacquiao, earning him at at least $180 million.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, was slapped with a class action suit on Tuesday (Manila time) for failing to disclose a shoulder injury ahead of his megafight against Mayweather last Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The Filipino boxing champion only revealed in the post-fight press conference that he was hobbled by a right shoulder injury which turned out to be a rotator cuff tear.
