Dylan Ababou’s second chance with Barako Bull all for God
For Dylan Ababou, his second chance for a healthy career is a gift from above that he wants to repay.
His good performance in his first game back at Barako Bull Energy was vintage Ababou, exploiting openings and pulling up from distance once he sees daylight.
Yet, his 16 points wasn’t a show for his former team.
That was a show for God.
“I don’t have anything to prove,” Ababou said. “It’s for the Lord. I want to show to Him that the second chance He gave me was worth it.”
It’s looking good for Ababou as his Barako Bull Energy dealt NLEX Road Warriors a 101-96 loss.
Ababou has had three surgeries that kept him sidelined during much of his time with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
“I want to seize the opportunity,” Ababou said who was once of the most complete players in the UAAP while playing for the University of Santo Tomas.
“I feel that I’ve experienced everything in the basketball that if I get into something new, I’ve experienced worse.”
