Kazakhstan managed to take the 9th place of the Asian U23 Women’s Volleyball Championship as they dispensed Uzbekistan, 25-18, 25-27, 25-19, 25-16, Friday morning at the Philsports Arena.
Both Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were relegated to the classification zone with Uzbekistan exiting the inaugural tournament as the 10th place.
It was a pretty one-sided affair with the second set the lone exception that took Uzbekistan two extra points to settle.
After their second set hiccup, the Kazakhs went to cruise control once more.
Team Captain Natalya Akilova led the Kazakhs with 18 points while Anastassiua Rostovchsikova and Yana Yagodina finishing with 12 points apiece.
Barhayohon Umarova led the Uzbeks with 12 points, while Shaknoza Musaeva added 10. IDL
