BARAKO import Liam McMorrow is big, strong, fast.
And he loves his mom.
“We want to win on Mother’s Day!” the 7-foot-2 Canadian said Saturday.
“We talked about that before the game, we want to win for our moms.”
Standing a full head above almost everyone at Smart-Araneta Coliseum, the imposing McMorrow said everything he knows he learnt from his mom.
McMorrow said his mom raised him and his two older brothers and oldest sister by herself.
Barako started their PBA Governor’s Cup with a 2-0 record and McMorrow is smack in the middle of it like a gigantic battery.
For his head coach Koy Banal, their motivation is the special holiday.
“It’s Mother’s Day, we want our mothers to be proud of us,” Banal said.
McMorrow said his 6-foot mom is still in Canada and her “baby” has to wait for Canada to get to Sunday before greeting his mom.
“I wish I could bring her, she’d be kissing everybody,” McMorrow said playfully.
