NCR, Laguna shine in Cebuana tennis
Juan Carlo Lapore of Marikina, Jeremiah Macias III of Las Piñas and Blanche Lagrisola from Sta. Rosa, Laguna, snared two titles each in the recent 2015 Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championship Series in Bacoor, Cavite, and Tubod, Lanao del Norte.
Lapore beat Nasugbu bet Aurich Reyes, 6-0, 6-4, for the 12-and-under crown before besting John Jeric Guanzon, 6-2 , 7-6, in the 14-U finals; Macias stopped Paulo Martin twice—6-5, 5-7, 10-5 in 16-U and 6-2, 6-1 in 18-U; and Lagrisola toppled Silang, Cavite bets Mariane Ferr (14-U) and Lexine Enriquez (16-U).
The Cavite leg attracted 128 entries while 176 joined the Tubod tournament backed by Gov. Mohamad Khalid Dimaporo, official ball Dunlop and Cebuana Lhuillier president and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier.
The remaining legs are slated in Baybay, Leyte, on May 11 to 15; Ubay, Bohol, on May 16 to 19; and Jagna, Bohol, on May 21 to 25.
