Narvasa, Santos top 2 PBA commish bets
The race for the commissionership of the PBA is now down to two men: Chito Narvasa and Rickie Santos.
Inquirer sources within the board of league governors bared this yesterday as the body votes for the final time on Thursday to name the successor to Chito Salud, who quit the post and then later accepted the new post of league president and CEO.
The same sources said that the board had voted during its last meeting and gave Narvasa 10 votes and Santos six. The other candidates, Vince Hizon and Jay Adalem, got five and three, respectively.
The exercise was actually a mock vote with each team representative given two votes. The result, according to the Inquirer sources, indicated that only Narvasa and Santos have the inside track to Salud’s old job.
The board could still change its position, however. In a previous meeting, for example, the name of Narvasa was included in the list even though he was not among the first six candidates announced.
