THE ICTSI Tour’s big guns return to action starting today when the inaugural Anvaya Cove Invitational gets off the ground in Morong, Bataan.
Three-time Order of Merit champion Antonio Lascuña and Angelo Que banner the crack field in the P650,000 event, where the legendary Frankie Miñoza and young Miguel Tabuena are also entered.
Tabuena and Que have won the first two legs of the young season while Lascuña has been knocking at the door by finishing in the top five of the first three events.
“I think I can still play well because my ball striking has been very good lately,” said Lascuña, who won the OOM the last three years because of his consistent form.
Ferdie Aunzo, meanwhile, spearheaded his squad to victory in the traditional pro-am yesterday, combining with Ikuko Kito and Eimee Hedeager for an 18-under 54.
The veteran Rey Pagunsan, with Renato Tamoro, Joseph Tiu and Andy Nocum, placed second with a 55, nipping Jun Bernis and teammates Danilo Abad, Kid Tinio and Justin Flores in the countback. Musong R. Castillo
