Petron overpowers Shopinas to claim Philippine Super Liga crown

Petron overpowered Shopinas, 25-17, 22-25, 30-28, 25-17, for a second Philippine Super Liga title Thursday evening at Cuneta Astrodome.
The Blaze Lady Spikers showed utter dominance from the regular season to the championship as they went an unblemished 13-0 on the way to the title.
Article continues after this advertisementDindin Santiago Manabat took the set from Mary Grace Masangkay and turned it into a smooth, championship-clinching runner for the stacked Blaze Lady Spikers.
A team error from the Clickers proved too costly for them as it handed put Petron at match point, 24-17.
Manabat and Aby Maraño led Petron with 18 points apiece while Rachel Anne Daquis and Frances Molina combined for 25.
