Lions, Bombers seek 4th Filoil Flying V triumph

San Beda shoots for a fourth straight win against a dangerous Centro Escolar University squad Friday even as unbeaten Jose Rizal U returns to action in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.

The Red Lions are favored in the 5 p.m. clash with the Scorpions, who are coming off a heartbreaking 62-65 overtime loss to the University of the East Warriors last Wednesday.

The Bombers take the floor against the Letran Knights at 3 p.m. in an all-NCAA clash. JRU took its preparation for the NCAA wars a notch up by seeing action in an invitational tournament in Bangkok last week.

The Bombers are also aiming for a fourth straight win in Group A where the Knights are running fifth with a 2-2 record. Letran is riding high on a 72-64 conquest of EAC last Wednesday in a game where guard Mark Cruz sparkled with 14 points and four assists.

Reigning UAAP champion National University shoots for a third win against EAC at 1:30 p.m. after the tussle between struggling University of the Philippines and Lyceum.

The Bulldogs narrowly escaped the St. Benilde Blazers, 66-62, with guard Gelo Alolino topscoring with 19 points.
