Ateneo and La Salle-Zobel demolished their respective rivals and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 8th Smart-Philippine Chinese Amateur Basketball League Freego Cup Thursday at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City.

With Gian Mamuyac presiding over Ateneo’s torrid start, the Eaglets romped to a 92-59 win over the University of Perpetual Help Altalettes for their fifth straight win in as many outings in Group A elims.

The win was a fitting sequel to the team’s 79-43 drubbing of AMA University last Tuesday.
