Magny recovers to stun Lim in UFC Fight Night Manila

Neil Magny recovered from a brutal assault in the first round and stunned Hyun Gyu Lim in the second round to win via technical knockout in their welterweight match in UFC Fight Night Manila: Edgar vs. Faber Saturday evening at Mall of Asia Arena.

Lim went out of the gate firing Magny with several punches and knees before the American took the Korean to the ground and get his gameplan on.

Magny capitalized on Lim’s cut above the left eye and pounded the Korean in the ground with relentless left hammers as the referee stopped the fight in the 1:24 mark of the second round.

“He came hard in the first round…but I regained my composure and stayed calm,” Magny said as he improved to a 15-4 record and a seventh straight win. “It played out perfect and it’s a great win for me.”

Lim’s record fell to 13-5-1.
