Shaking off its poor start, San Miguel bagged a second straight win after annihilating Globalport, 124-102, in the PBA Governor’s Cup Sunday afternoon at Cuneta Astrodome.

Import AZ Reid was as hot as the Arizona desert after detonating four straight triples, with the last one hitting the bottom of the net at the 1:30 mark of the third quarter to extend the Beermen’s lead to 29, 100-71.
Beermen head coach Leo Austria said his team and him “were on the same page” during the dominating performance.

“The biggest factor was energy,” Austria said as they get to the .500 mark with a 2-2 record. “First two games a lot of players were coming off injuries and sickness.”

Reid was on fire as he put up 41 points, 9-of-11 from the three-point area, to go along with nine rebounds.

Lassiter was steaming with 24 points, 14 points in the third quarter, on 9-of-14 shooting.

“Marcio is not the player you want to be traded,” Austria said after rumors circulated that the shooting guard would be shipped to Ginebra in a three-way trade with Barako Bull.

Austria added Lassiter had subpar performances in the first three games after getting hit with a viral infection.

Chris Ross also made good for the Beermen with 17 points, seven assists, and four steals.
