NBA legend Horace Grant sees no team beating Golden State

Roll out the yellow ropes and give the Larry O’Brien trophy to the Golden State Warriors already.

Well if NBA legend Horace Grant is to be believed, that would be the scenario.

“I don’t see a team beating Golden State right now,” Grant said during an NBA Cares event in Tondo, Manila Saturday.

“Golden State and Cleveland off the East. Golden State in seven.”

Grant, a four-time champion with the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, however acknowledged that the bunch of MVP Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the Warriors’ deep bench will still have to thwart the challenge that he expects the Houston Rockets would put up.

“James Harden, Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza are not just gonna lay down. With a coach like Kevin McHale, he’s gonna tweak things a little for Golden State.”

Having played with the Bulls who won their first three peat from 1991 to 1993, Grant said the four teams vying for the NBA title—the Warriors, the Rockets, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks—should work together and not look for individual awards.

“All four teams need to play together, stay healthy, forget about the individual accolades.” IDL
