Park, Constantino post Sta. Lucia Tour romps

PARK Min-ung of Korea fired a second straight 1-under-par 71 on Saturday to cap a lopsided triumph in the men’s championship division of the Sta. Lucia Amateur Open at Summit Point in Lipa City.

The 15-year-old Park tallied a 54-hole 206 total and won by 11 shots over upstart Dan Emilio Cruz, who fired a 69 for 217 in the event sponsored by Wilcon Depot, Pomelo Tee, Davies Paints, Mizuno and Kang Ho Bong.

Rupert Zaragosa, who conquered Park in the finals of the Philippine Amateur Match Play a couple of weeks back, was third at 219.

Southeast Asian Games-bound Harmie Constantino also won with plenty to spare in the women’s side, shooting a 70 for 202 for a 10-shot win over Daniella Uy.

Uy closed out with a 72.

Edsel Opulencia fired a 77 for 152 to rule the men’s Class A event, while Walter Lacuesta (164) and Fernando delos Reyes (153) copped the Class B and seniors divisions, respectively.

Kyla Gueverra topped women’s Class A with 214 in the tournament backed by ICTSI, AQEI, WGC Golf, Isuzu, Dizon Farms, Texas Eagle, Rub Ribs, VMJ Evergreen, Ecostrong, U-Frieght, Gatorade, Dunlop, Boysen, Security Bank, Royale Homes, Business Mirror and Microtel.  Musong R. Castillo
