ALUMNI from the country’s top universities and colleges tee it up this Thursday in the inaugural Volvo National Alumni Golf championship at Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Carmona, Cavite.
The tournament is open to all schools and requires that all participants hold a graduate or baccalaureate degree from the institution they are representing.
To be played at Southwoods’ Legends course, the 18-hole tournament is a five-to-play, four-to-count event using the Molave scoring system.
“Volvo Philippines is delighted to be involved with the National Alumni Golf Championship,” said Chris Yu, Volvo’s senior manager for marketing strategy. “We want to become part of an event that rekindles the competitive school spirit and brings recognition to the schools that have produced the best golfers.”
The tournament also involves Volvo owners acting as captains for the maximum of 25 teams vying in the first staging of the event.
Apart from the team championship, individual titles will also be disputed. Prizes at stake include a brand new Volvo V40 premium hatchback valued at P2.288.88 million for a hole-in-one.
